So I love to swiffer sweeper our house because we have hard wood floors in every room but the kitchen and bathrooms. I came across this idea and decided I would give it a go.
The swiffer pads can be quite expensive and sometimes they hardly cover one room's floor in our house before they need to be tossed and replaced. Use an old t-shirt and cut the shirt into rectangles that will fit over the swiffer head. Use with pledge, favorite mop mixture, etc. The great thing about these is that they can be thrown in the washer and reused over and over again.

Hey. I'm Project Pat, yo.
Okay. I have once again jumped onto the bandwagon of Blogging. I guess I will use this first post to introduce myself and my blog. I am an almost Quarter of a Centenarian who is finishing my last year of Graduate school at the University of Memphis. I am in a Public Health program and have recently decided to make some changes in my life. I have realized that it is more important than ever to reduce the amount of wastes, toxins, etc that I as an individual contribute to the increasing filth and pollution of this precious Globe on which we live. I thought to myself, "Hey you. Be green. Just do it." Well, easier said than done. I mean, I'm constantly running late, and let's be honest. Being green takes some organization and pre-planning, both of which I am NOT accustomed to doing. How much easier is it to grab a plastic water bottle out of the fridge when I am heading out the door than to grab my water bottle, fill it up with ice, and then water and THEN get out the door? Lots easier when you have it timed to the second at which you must leave or you'll be late for work. So yeah, this is definitely going to be a trying journey on which I would like to personally invite you today.
I think I would like to try to change a habit of mine every week. And because I love to be crafty, or Project Pat, as some of you may know me, I think I will give you some neat projects to do with me as we make this journey. My current fascination is with making things from old t-shirts. Everyone has millions of t-shirts and let's face it, we wear the same ones over and over again so why not make something useful out of the ones just taking up space in your dresser drawers? Stay tuned for ways to make your old t-shirts into something useful, exciting, or fashionable. Check back daily for new "upcycling" ideas that you can do with me. Wish me luck, and Happy Greening to you all.
